What's it going to take to get this guy some recognition?!?!

The announcer, however, just corrected himself...

Trail Blazers head coach Nate McMillan played for Seattle from 1986-1998 and coached the team from 2000-2005.

Brandon Roy and Martell Webster are both Seattle natives and played against each other in high school. Roy also went to college at the University of Washington.

Seattle point guard Luke Ridnour played his collegiate basketball at the University of Oregon.

The personal ties between these two teams even overshadow the close proximity of the two cities, making this game a surefire thriller.

Christmas present for Rip City
posted: at 3:53 PM

Hey there Trail Blazer fans. Here we are on Christmas and the Trail Blazers have won an NBA-high ten games in a row coming into tonight. Can B-Roy, LaMarcus and the rest of the Trail Blazers give Rip City the perfect gift? A win tonight over local rivals Seattle would bring the Trail Blazers to .5 games behind Denver in the Northwest Division.

This match-up lost quite a bit of its luster when Greg went down for the season. But now this game is even more important than draft pick #1 vs. draft pick #2 because Kevin Durant and the SuperSonics are in the path of the Trail Blazer winning streak. Don't expect Seattle to gift wrap this game: Durant and the Sonics will not take this rivalry game lightly.

Look for big contributions off the bench from Travis Outlaw, James Jones, Jarrett Jack, Sergio Rodriguez and Channing Frye. The Trail Blazers' second unit is one of the best in the league and has been one of the biggest reasons for the team's continued success.

So let's go Trail Blazers! We got snow in Portland on Christmas, but all we really want is eleven in a row.
