A Big Win Against Big D
posted: Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 9:27 PM

The Trail Blazers have defeated Dirk and the boys from Dallas, 91-82. Every single player on the court contributed for the Trail Blazers. Brandon Roy scored a new career-high of 32 points. He also had seven assists. LaMarcus continued his steady play as he had 18 points and eight rebounds. Travis Outlaw was huge off the bench with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Steve Blake had a tough night shooting, but dished out nine assists.

The Portland defense was the key, as they held the Mavericks to 35% shooting. Dirk was just 4-13 for 11 points with LaMarcus and Travis hounding him the entire game.

The Trail Blazers are now even at 3-3 on the season, winning all three here at the Rose Garden.

Great game, Blazers!

My wife and I are recent (May) expatriates from Beaverton. We're enjoying our NBA League Pass by watching our favorite team get Big Wins. Three in a row!

Congratulations, Brandon and LaMarcus. Guards: Please work on those lobs. They were pathetic. But the D was wonderful

Congrats Blazers!
I sat behind the Blazers bench at the first game in 1970 and attended all home playoff/championship games in 1977. I'm disabled now and can't go like in the old days. I still that feeling same feeling of excitement when the Blazers win. It' such a shame that the organization chose to betray so many of the old fans with the Comcast deal. How do you spell broken heart?

I watched the game on comcast and felt many of the same feeling I did in "77" 90, 91 and 92. What a great team effort. Brandon was a marksman, LA terrified the middlemen, Martell caused their defence to worry. Blake pushed the ball like a rabbit. Joel and Fry were big in the middle. Sergio brought excitement and another gear. Jack had another solid game. And Outlaw played like a beast. Team is tight and each understands their role. We are at 500 folks. Doing this without Greg makes me wonder what would we have been like if he were in the game. I'm happy! happy! Happy!

Then, after a Dallas offensive foul, he went over half the court in less than five seconds to hit a layup in traffic. He was fouled, but missed the free throw. Let's Hope a Comeback Isn't Needed...
posted: at 6:46 PM

The Trail Blazers take on the Dallas Mavericks tonight, who led the league with 67 regular season wins last year. The Mavericks are led by reigning MVP Dirk Nowitzki, small forward Josh Howard and sixth man Jason Terry.

Let's hope the Trail Blazers start out strong and make it three wins in a row. After a tough road trip to start the year, the Trail Blazers are undefeated in their two games at home. The home-stand came with a new starting line-up with Steve Blake and Channing Frye starting. They've averaged 101.5 points per game since the shake up. Former starter Jarrett Jack has been a big part of that, averaging 20.5 points per game off the bench.

It's 10 minutes to game time, the teams are warming up, the crowd is pouring in. It's another big test for these Trail Blazers against one of the NBA's elite. Who's going to step up tonight???

Mavericks Injury Report
posted: at 6:35 PM

The starting point guard for the Mavericks, Devin Harris, is inactive tonight. He missed the teams third and fourth games, but returned for their last game against the Warriors. He apparently re-aggravated a left leg injury.

Likely starting in his place will be Jose Juan Barea, a second year player out of Northeastern University in Boston. He started both of the games that Harris missed this season, allowing scoring dynamo Jason Terry to keep his role as sixth man. Terry is averaging 23 points per game this season

Dirk and company are in town
posted: at 5:44 PM

Ok, last night we had Euro hero Pau Gasol, tonight we have Dirk Nowitzki. Hopefully the Trail Blazers defense can clamp down on Dirk like they did on Pau in the second half of last nights victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. After racking up 19 first half points, Pau was held to ZERO in the second half. Let's see if we can hold the reigning MVP to limited points.

Stay tuned, we have some cool things in store for you tonight!
