Heading into half-time...
posted: Friday, December 22, 2006 at 8:08 PM

After having all sorts of trouble scoring against a tough Trail Blazers' zone defense, the Raptors found a way to beat the zone and break the tie with a three-pointer by Anthony Parker.

The three gave Toronto a slight edge heading into half-time, leading the Trail Blazers 52 - 49.

Bargnani still leads all Toronto players with 9 points, but Anthony Parker and Fred Jones are right on his heels with 8 points a piece. Portland is also witnessing the quickness of point guard T.J. Ford, who has slashed his way to 6 points and 5 assists.

Travis Outlaw, Raef LaFrentz, and Brandon Roy have come off the bench to lead the Trail Blazers in nearly every category. Outlaw is 3 for 3 from the field and is tied with Jarrett Jack at 9 points as Portland's leading scorer. The Portland bench has contributed 28 of the Trail Blazers' 49 points, which is both good and bad. It means that the Trail Blazers are an incredibly deep team, but it also means that leading scorer Zach Randolph has yet to get going from the field. Look for the Trail Blazers to try and find Randolph a little more frequently in the second half.

Benson High School's Technique Dance squad nearly blew up the Rose Garden during half-time as they flipped, shook, and wild out to music by Fergie, Lil Jon and others. The Portland crowd gave the dancers an enormous ovation, but couldn't inspire an encore out of the young performers.
