University of Oregon Jam Squad opens up game...
posted: Friday, December 22, 2006 at 6:41 PM

The University of Oregon Jam squad warmed up the Portland crowd with a combination of hip-hop, break dance and gymnastic moves. The squad looked sharp and received a nice ovation from the bubbling Rose Garden crowd.

Unfortunately for UofO fans, their football team did not perform as well as their Jam squad. The Ducks were victimized by BYU's first bowl game victory since 1996, in a game which John Beck, starting quarterback for the Cougars, passed for 375 yards and two touchdowns. Final score of the contest was 38 to 8 in favor of BYU.

With the college football season over for the Ducks, and Oregon State's season to end soon, Oregon can finally return to a basketball state. The Trail Blazers 5 game winning streak is second within Oregon to the University of Oregon's 10 game win streak, which they've used to start the season. The 10 - 0 Ducks beat Idaho State in their most recent contest 84 - 55.

#24 Oregon State takes on Missouri in the Sun Bowl to round out their football season, which should be quite a battle, while their basketball team has started their season with an 8 and 5 record. Most recently, the Beavers knocked off Mercer by 31 points- 93 to 62.

Century High School performed beautiful renditions of both the "National Anthem" and "O Canada" and we're all ready to go here at the Rose Garden.
