Delightful Dozen?

The Trail Blazers go for win number 12 tonight against division foe Minnesota. The Trail Blazers' winning streak has put them in second place in the Northwest Division with a record of 16-12. Portland is one game behind Denver for first place. Brandon Roy's penetration, Martell Webster's three-point shooting, LaMarcus Aldridge's post play, Steve Blake's consistency and Joel Przybilla's toughness have keyed this tremendous streak. Equally important has been the tremendous play of the White Squad, the second unit for the Trail Blazers. Jarrett Jack, Sergio Rodriguez, Travis Outlaw, James Jones and Channing Frye are vital participants in the Trail Blazers' success.

The Timberwolves have had different fortunes this season. They are just 4-23 in their first season without Kevin Garnett. The Timberwolves traded Garnett to Boston this offseason, bringing in a crop of young talent. Al Jefferson, the centerpiece of the trade, has done a more than admirable job this year. He comes in to tonight with Garnett-like numbers, averaging 20.3 points and 12.3 rebounds. If Aldridge and Przybilla can shut down Jefferson, the Timberwolves will have a hard time knocking of the Trail Blazers.
