Time to dethrone the Kings, again!
posted: Saturday, March 03, 2007 at 6:33 PM

Mike Bibby, Ron Artest and the rest of the Sacramento Kings are headed into the Rose Garden for their third meeting with Portland's own Trail Blazers.

Out of the three previous meetings, 2 of them are worth talking about. The first meeting, a 20-point loss in Sacramento, was one of the least note-worthy performances by this Trail Blazer team, but in two follow-up games, the Trail Blazers have rebounded (largely thanks to rebounding) and defeated the Kings twice.

Brandon Roy was plagued by an injured heel and did not play in the first match-up, but in the two more recent meetings, Roy has averaged 17.0 points, grabbed 3.5 rebounds and dished 2.5 assists to lead the Trail Blazers backcourt.

Jarrett Jack did not play in the most recent meeting, a 95 - 87 Trail Blazer victory, but he will be charged with the big task of containing Mike Bibby. Bibby is the glue that holds the Kings together and he's been a thorn in the Trail Blazers side all season.

Bibby has averaged 17.1 points and 5.2 assists in three games against the Trail Blazers.

It's "Rookies on the Rise" poster night here at the Rose Garden and the fans can't be more excitied. The Trail Blazers can take 3 of 4 on the season from the Kings with a win and they'll also extend their home-winning streak to 2 games!
