Trail Blazers and Grizzlies Coming Up
posted: Friday, February 23, 2007 at 6:57 PM

It wont be long now. Both teams are shooting around, stretching, and getting ready to do battle. Tonight's game will be the third of the season between the two clubs. The Trail Blazers took the first two, most recently a 135-132 double-overtime win in Memphis on January 27th.

Besides clinching the series, a win tonight would give the Trail Blazers a record of .500 at the Rose Garden on the season -- good stuff! Indeed the team has played harder and won more often in these last few weeks at home, something Nate McMillan has been hoping for.

The Trail Blazers have won their last two straight over playoff-bound western conference teams the Jazz and Lakers. The Grizzlies have lost their last three games.

Tonight's game marks only the second time Damon Stoudamire has played in the Rose Garden since leaving the Trail Blazers two seasons ago. His last visit was tragically marked as Damon stuffered an injury that sidelined him for the remainder of the season.

I saw Damon as he was preparing to enter the court and I'll tell you, he certainly looked happy to be home. He was hollering to friends and had a big grin on his face.

It's getting close.
