Trail Blazers looking to cash in against the Bucks
posted: Sunday, January 21, 2007 at 6:49 PM

The Trail Blazers are all set to get underway against an injury depleted Milwaukee Bucks roster who will be without high scoring shooting guard Michael Redd. Redd was the difference in the first match-up between the two teams, as he was able to control overtime and send the Trail Blazers back to Portland with a loss.

Tonight, however, should be a different story. Ex-Trail Blazer Ruben Patterson is probably the most dangerous player that Portland will face, but the Trail Blazers must also be weary of newly acquired point guard Earl Boykins.

Boykins was a dangerous, change-of-pace guard for the Denver Nuggets and his speed could cause problems for Jarrett Jack and Sergio Rodriguez.

The Trail Blazers have to be excited to return to action after an emotional contest in Phoenix, which was nearly one of the biggest upsets of the season. Phoenix had won 11 straight, but nearly had the streak snapped by the feisty Trail Blazers.

Once again, it will be up to Zach Randolph and rookie point guard Brandon Roy to lead the Trail Blazers. Randolph played an emotionally charged game against Phoenix and should carry that momentum into tonight’s game.

Jarrett Jack could also be an X-factor for the Trail Blazers. Jack’s size and speed combination will cause match-up problems against the much smaller Earl Boykins.
