The Rose Garden is ready to rock!
posted: Friday, December 29, 2006 at 6:46 PM

The arena is rocking, the bobbleheads are shaking and the Portland crowd is anxiously awaiting the introduction of the Portland Trail Blazers!

After a coast-to-coast victory against an injury-depleted Hornets team, the Trail Blazers have to be excited for tonight's contest against the 76ers. It's the first time in a very long time that the 76ers have came to Portland without Allen Iverson in the starting lineup, but they've found A.I. 2.0 in Andre Iguodala.

Iguodala leads all 76ers with 15.9 points, 4.6 assists, and 2.07 steals per game.

Philadelphia also got some interesting assets from the Denver Nuggets to replace their disgruntled superstar. Andre Miller is an assist machine and is expected to start at the point position, while Joe Smith should help out Samuel Dalembert in the paint.

The Trail Blazers beat the 76ers in their first meeting on the road by a last second Zach Randolph lay-up. Despite only winning by two points, the Trail Blazers controlled much of the game. Juan Dixon had a huge effort off the bench in that game, scoring 17 points and stealing the ball 4 times.

It's the last home game of 2006 and could very well be the second game in a very long Portland winning streak! Get to the Rose Garden as soon as possible or catch the game on Fox Sports Northwest.
